How to Report Damaged or Lost Freight

JORI Logistics – Client instructions

When freight arrives damaged, short, or missing, timely reporting protects your claim rights. Please follow the steps below.

1. Inspect Before Signing

  • Check all cartons, pallets, and packaging.
  • Write specific notes about damage or shortage on the POD.
  • Take photos of the goods and all packaging.

2. After Delivery

  • Keep all packaging materials until instructed otherwise.
  • Report the issue to JORI Logistics within:
    • 24 hours for visible damage
    • 24–48 hours for concealed damage

3. Required Documentation

To begin a claim, please provide:

  • Commercial invoice
  • Packing list
  • Photos of goods and packaging
  • POD showing damage notation
  • Repair or replacement estimate

4. Important Reporting Deadlines

  • Visible damage: report same day
  • Concealed damage: within 24–48 hours
  • Shortage: same day

5. What Not to Do

  • Do not sign a clean POD if damage is visible.
  • Do not discard packaging.
  • Do not repair or use the items.
  • Do not delay reporting.

What JORI Logistics will do

  • Acknowledge your report
  • Notify the carrier
  • Guide you through the required steps
  • Submit claims on your behalf (where applicable)
  • Provide regular updates
