NEW Single Window Initiative (SWI)

Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is reducing shipment release times by decommissioning its legacy paper system on August 17, 2020.

Customs brokers will be required to submit an Integrated Import Declaration (IID) which must include the mandatory data elements from CBSA and all other Participating Government Departments and Agencies (PGA’s) in order to receive the release of goods.

JORI has the required software to accommodate the new processes and we’re ready for the mandatory implementation of the IID on August 17, 2020 so you can achieve faster shipment releases across the border.

The CBSA’s new Single Window Initiative (SWI) will streamline the process between PGA’s and the CBSA to improve functionality and release times. If you have questions on how we’re handling this new process please contact your JORI Representative. If you’re not currently a JORI client and want to learn how you can achieve faster customs release times with the Single Window Initiative, go to jorilogistics.com/contact/.
